Guest Post By- Chelsey Ocean

The weather is finally getting warm, and the end of May Bank Holiday has just flown by – only meaning summer is very vastly approaching. Even though the lockdown is currently a big cloud shadowing our life’s, does not mean we cannot appreciate 2020 Summer Fashion Trends, and oh my they do not disappoint. From Neon Colours to Thigh Leg shorts, Stunning Blazers and so much more. Some of which are trends we have not seen before this big. As for myself I have started buying my own summer wardrobe slowly, but after reviewing these seasons trends, I want to build my wardrobe so much more!

Splash of Neon

I am a girl all for colour right now, the brighter the better and this trend must agree! Neon coloured clothing is high up there in one of the top trends for summer 2020. I have a few neon pieces in my wardrobe, from this year and last but I will be bringing my 2019 wardrobe into play for this trend. I think neon colours say it all this season, it is the ‘look at me now’ trend, being bold, beautiful and inspiring in vibrate rainbow colours in the sunshine. Even if it is just sitting on your garden furniture, just make sure you get a pic!

Thigh ‘Dad’ Shorts / Longline Shorts

Formally known as ‘Dad Shorts’. These types of shorts seem to be the current craze, high retailers are already selling out of stock on these types, like Topshop, New Look and ASOS etc. I myself are currently waiting for Topshop to restock so I can grab some myself. Something I love about these shorts are that I have seen these in all types of fabric, which is great so they can be a multi-wear for various occasions. I have created a blog post about these on ‘6 ways to wear denim dad shorts’ ( http://www.chelseyocean.com .) I have seen these shorts in a cotton fabric, which are the ones from Topshop that I NEED in my wardrobe desperately, in all the colours! Tailoring is another form of these shorts I love to see, with a matching blazer or some cute heels these would look so stylish; but with some trainers and tee will look equally as stylish.

Ways I Style Dad Shorts

Blazers

I am such a blazer lover anyway so seeing these around a lot now makes me so happy! I own around 4 blazers currently, but I need this to grow more, they are the perfect finish to an outfit. Blazer and Dad Shorts? You are sorted for summer! There is so many ways you can style blazers, from casual with some trainers, or with some cute heels and a dress for a night out. I will link my Instagram at the bottom of this page, in my ‘Style Zone’ I show all the ways I would style a blazer.

Shirt It Up

One of the major trends for summer 2020; is shirts, tailored shirts, cropped shirts even shirt dresses. I absolutely love styling shirts as there is so many ways to wear – you can even add it as an accessory, like an open layer or around the waist. I will show you ways I style shirts below. When it comes to purchasing a shirt I always tend to get a size or a few sizes bigger just so it makes it easier to style different ways.

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was wondering what all is required to get setup? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet smart so I’m not 100 certain. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hey, Actually there are a lot of free platforms you can try. I use WordPress, and also they have a free platform version. You can start there and if you like it you can invest a little more money. In the beginning I wouldn’t really buy anything else except for a domain and storage and they don’t really coast more then a couple dollars I do suggest comparing different providers first. Good Luck!
